You are PROUD of me? What a jerk. Why on earth would you say that you are proud of me? I am not a child. I am not your friend. I am not in a socially inferior position to you. So where do you get off telling me you are proud of me because of the language I choose to use or not to use? My language choices are my language choices. I think profanity is wonderful. It's amazingly expressive and is the most accurate way I can imagine to convey very strong emotions. And go read that second to last paragraph again. It IS judgemental. Even if you aren't lumping those different groups of people together, your intentional exaggerations put down people with different views from yours. Abortion, sex, whatever - you use language that denigrates people who take different positions on those issues than you do. Just look at the tone of what you wrote. You set yourself up as being superior to people because of their moral beliefs and/or practices. |
