by the experience of major loneliness at 11/13 - which is something I share with him - and his thing about lots of boys making for him having little sexual desire, but the lack going in the opposite direction. Definately the case with me - give me some good, appropriate positive relationships with a number of boys and there really isn't an issue. We have a real problem with the attitude of 'the authorities' within youth organisations. In practice they cannot be expected to allow us to work with boys once they know about who we are; the weight of public paranoia (not just their own ignorance) makes that almost inconceivable. Yet I agree absolutely that we do have something to offer.... I suspect that we need to be looking to God to provide us with opportunities to serve boys to His glory, as has been my experience; ultimately it is His problem to guide us on this whole thing. |
