I read thru the entire series and found it interesting and well worth reading. Although I must disagree with Ben on one point. I believe all kids are sexual to some extent at a very early age, even if they don't know what that is yet. I know I was, and I wasn't told about sex till I was 12 or so. I don't see masturbation as wrong, but yes it can become an addiction, like a lot of things. In my own life, I found that the attitude toward masturbation (as being naughty) to be very harmful. I wondered what was wrong with me that I liked doing something so naughty. Whether or not early sex with an adult is not always harmful (in and of itself) as White Knight suggests, I'm not sure of. I used to think it was almost always harmful to the child. Now I'm not so sure. There seem to be a lot of kids that have done this and not been traumatized. I think it depends on the kid; whether he is fully aware of what is going on and chooses of his own free will. But since there is always the chance that he will be emotionally harmed, even if he makes the choice, it's best to refrain. And with the hysterical climate being what it is, if the sex doesn't traumatize the child, societies reaction (if it ever came out) will. Of course this is all a moot point for Christians since it would be wrong for us regardless of whether or not the child is harmed. Dakota |
