I was going to say something on the lines that 'of course you've got problems, you're a teenager'. This is inadequate - a more accurate statement is 'of course you've got problems, you're a human being'. I am ever more sceptical that there is really anyone alive who isn't struggling with life to a greater or lesser extent - and to some extent if you're not struggling, then you're not growing; muscles that aren't used atrophy. I wish I could promise that I'll be remembering you in 50 years - but as I'm likely to have been 'promoted to glory' by then, I think it would be ambitious to commit my schedule in heaven. I can say that having you around - and the emails I've got off you - have been some great moments in recent months, and I hope very much that you will be a part of my life for much of the rest of it!! |
