Emeth, Thank you so much for posting. I am a bit surprised, with your depth of insight and understanding that you have held back so long. Maybe something to consider is not what you can get from this forum, but what you can give to it. Your insight is right on, I believe. We do fill ourselves up with things that can only truly be fulfilled by God. For me, it continues to be an enourmous challenge to let go of this, to allow myself to feel the true pain of existence, so that finally I can soothe the pain with God and his love, rather than worldly things. I was thinking today that I went from one high to another, from a great sermon, to cute boys in the fellowship, to food and then desert and then buying things in the store. None of these was bad or sinful, yet in the absence of these I was bored and empty. You are also right too when you talk of emptiness and loneliness. These are what I feel. Yet I do believe that God intended us to have fellowship with one another, not just him. Even going back to Genesis, God created woman to fill a void in men. The problem of course arises when OUR Eve is ten years old and wears Nike's. I hope that you will share more, Emeth. We have alot in common. You are not alone.
