John,

I fear that what you're seeing goes way beyond just America. During the last century especially, there's been a fast progression all over the world toward a globalistic society. And the purpose for it? Peace? I doubt it. I think money and power are the motivating factors behind this one world order (see www.oneworldorder.org to read about their beliefs). And in this light, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference whether one be a republican, democrat, or whatever. All roads lead to "Rome"? I think so. And that's why I, like Paul, must say, "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:2). Jesus prayed that even though we are in the world, we are not of the world (John 17). And the wisest man in the world (perhaps the most experienced and knowledgeable person in the world), Solomon, concluded, "Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). God will take care of it. As Christians, we really have nothing to fear, except that we "fear" God and keep our focus on Him. No doubt this world is a tough place, but we are "above" it, are we not? And with this hope, we have our peace.

In Jesus' Love,
