Seeing ourselves in the other

‘It does not do to dwell on dreams’

Yes, to desire passionately that which we cannot have drives one to despair...

There is some comfort in the company of fellow travellers... but I see that you don't feel that you have found companionship here, and that makes me sad.

Despite His omnipotence and omniscience, it seems when I finally got up the courage to begin talking about the abuse I suffered in prison here on this board, He was off leading the other board members in a holy flame war.

Yes, again I despair... to find the balance between giving people what they want, and helping them see what they need. I regret that your post did not get the attention it deserved - knowing how it feels to invest time and emotional energy in expressing what matters profoundly to me without feedback.

Your pain is deep, but I think you are quick to say you don't belong. Not everyone here has a boy, perhaps that's why many don't post boy moments. Not everyone here judges harshly those who are tempted to cross lines. We are merely human, and sometimes we miss posts... and misplace our energies.

Maybe what you seek will be found outside the Christian community as frank responded to your previous post. You have the power to look away from the mirror. Do not be the victim, you have choices. I think that talking with nonBL Christians could be very useful. I'm sorry that we have not connected on ICQ, I really did want to talk to you... I wish that schedules were more compatible. I still want to talk with you... can't we find a way to make it work?

While ‘Footprints’ is a nice poem, I think it lacks depth. Yes, God is with us. But no, I don't believe that He has absolute control over every outcome - he gave us reason and the ability to make our own decisions. When we choose poorly, or look for guidance in the wrong places, I don't think we can blame God. However, we can ask why we feel alone. We can ask why these terrible things are happening. We can ask why our brothers are not sharing our pain.

I believe that God led you to CBF. I can see that we have not responded adequately for a variety of reasons. I hope that you will continue to struggle here or elsewhere. Know that you can always email me, and I do hope that we connect on ICQ.

Christ is in the midst of us - We are not alone - We live in community.

Peace of Christ,
Bach
