Hi John,
I have no problem with your question. I think it is a very good one. As Splash said, the bible is pretty clear on God's view of homosexuality (including boylove since boys are male). See Romans 1:24-32 below. I don't believe that God was looking for ways to make our lives miserable. He knew that homosexuality wasn't a preferred lifestyle, knew that it could cause disease, knew that it would cause people to feel outcasted, knew that it would disappoint parents and knew that it wouldn't help people to build traditional families in which children could be raised. Lets face it, homosexuality is not going to lead to large families. Even if a gay couple were to adopt, they aren't likely to have a large family. God is trying to tell us that homosexuality, just like greed, lust, selfishness and every other sin isn't part of how he planned for us to be happy.

But he knows that we aren't perfect and he doesn't want us to be. He isn't going to stop telling us what he thinks will make us happiest, because we aren't perfect, any more than a father wont tell his son that he doen't like the lyrics of a favored R&B band. But the father still loves the son, and recognizes that he can express that opinion but not force his son (at least beyond a certain age) to comply.

I am not trying to condemn you for being gay. I am a boylover and that makes me gay too (even though I am exclusively BL). I am not perfect either. But I do believe that the bible is clear on homosexuality not being something that God is trying to encourage. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

You are not alone.

Love,
Ben

Romans 1:24-32

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.
29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,
30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;
31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
