Thanks for your well thought out reply. I do see where you're coming from, a little anyway. I can't totally see where you're coming from because I don't have your background, but your post has helped me see more than I did before. I can understand why you would attack anyone that would question your love for your friend, something you hold very dear. And I am totally on your side when it comes to not tolerating hate. It's not right to hate. It's not even right to hate the haters. But I don't think everyone that has views against homosexuality are haters. Some are, but not all. I have beliefs that I'm sure you would disagree with, but I don't hate anyone. I don't think it's necessary to agree on everything to still be friends. Heck, I realize I don't have all the answers. I'm just struggling to get thru life like everyone else. But I have to stay true to my beliefs just like everyone else has to stay true to theirs. If I see enough eveidence that I was mistaken or that I misinterpreted something, my beliefs may change. But even if they don't, I still try to live in harmony as much as possible with others that believe differently. I think my previous post might have sounded like I was asking you not to be yourself. I really didn't mean for it to sound that way. You should always be yourself. Who else can you be, right? :-) I just wanted you to know that even if we differ on some views, I'm not the enemy. We agree on a lot of things too. I guess my main point was that even people with views that are different in some areas, can still be allies in other areas. And if not allies, they can still be friends. Dakota |
