It went very very very very very well. I would have told ya, but I was so tired afterwards that I just crashed. :P I did two performances.

It's the kind of play where no one leaves the stage. I was acting for two hours straight each night. I was mentioned on the radio and got my picture in the paper (along with a short and very general article, which said I was playing the "Henry Ford" part, instead of Henry Fonda.)

On the second night, things nearly blew up. The ither semi-lead actor made a couple screw-ups. One involved the fact that he waited for a tiny que to speak which didn't come (the other guy forgot too,) but unfortunately he didn't know the script well enough to recover and stood there for a few agonising moments before slightly recovering.

Bu it all nearly came crashing down when, at a critical part in my arguements, the same guy said a line which was supposed to come five pages later in the script. He skipped 10 minutes of the play! Well, this was my moment of glory for all who knew what the hell was happening (the audiance was blissfully unaware).

I played on the script, and let the little dialogue that followed the actor's flubbed line play out and just before it advanced to the next bit, I made a seamless jump back to where we were supposed to be. When I got back to the dressing room at the intermission with everyone else, the director (also the English techer) was on his knees telling me "Thank you for saving my play!"

Gah.

I was still shell-shocked from that for a good while afterwards :P
