One of the things that we'll probably see more of after Sept 11th is huge misunderstanding of all things islam by the general populace. Like Osama bin Laden's incorrect use of the word "infidel." I've heard that in the crusades, when the Muslims would capture a city, they would go through the populous and ask the religious of every citizen. If the people were Muslin, Christian or Jewish, they were left alone, but if a person was Atheist, they were given the choice of Islam or death. So if I remember, right, an infidel is someone who has no god. Just another nail in bin Laden's coffin I hope. Am I correct, rahiim? |
