A voice of true lucid sanity pipes up, and frankly I agree with everything he says. That flame war I engaged myself in a while ago... I harbor no bad feelings for Rahiim, especially after he posted what he feels about his role in the opinion revolution, which is what I think I'll call the battle for gay rights. We're not toppling a government, we're changi opinions. Now, like Dak, I can't say the same for A.I., because it was evident to me in his posts that he was just twisting everything said around to keep the argument going on longer. And I've known what type of person Forgiven for a while, mainly from his longtime presence on this board. In my mind, he's no fundie, but he's no lightweight when it comes to his beliefs. One can be uper-optimistic here and say that this board is full of people with very strong characters and wills. If people were shifting there opinion left and right with every second post, what a sad state of affairs we'd be in. It's my personal opinion that morality is never black and white on a lot of things (I guess that's what I was trying to say during that little flame war.) There are too many things in life that come up as muddled shades of gray. What this board needs is opposing viewpoints. If everyone here only sees posts blindly glorifying everything, we may get a skewed perspective. We may get a warped view of other people's emotions and find ourselves confused as to how anyone could disagree with us. An opposing viewpoint provides perspective. Well, I don't want to ramble on too much more. Thanks for that post Dak. -Alti (And Rahiim, if you think I was angry at you in the flame war, well, I'm sorry.
