It is my view, on the issue of who's god is who's, that there are many religious which are different shades of the same.

I know there are some Bible verses that take a strict view on the opinion, but wouldn't just about every religion say "we're right and they're wrong."

Let's face it, every faith will have a nice self image. Every faith tells its followers that it is the right religion and it offers its own evidence to explain why. That's perfectly OK, that's what faiths do.

What I wonder is why, if God truely wanted everyone to have salvation, wouldn't he have shown himself to different cultures in different ways?

What about the American Indians? They were untouched by Europeans and consequently Christians until 1492 years after Jesus. (Of course, there WAS the Viking colony founded by Leif Erikson on Newfoundland, and relics depicting crosses were found there, but they had no contact with natives, if I remember right.)

Unless God had some uncharacteristic chip on His shoulder, why would he abandon a whole race of people?

And the East Asians? The Romans never made contact with them. Christianity couldn;t touch the place for almost as long as the Indians.

The details of each faith may differ, but is it the details that get you into haven? Will God cast you into Hell because you cut the hair around your temples as forbidden in Leviticus?

I think Islam is wonderful in the tolerant view it takes of other religions. Frankly, I know of no other religion with the same attitude. It is a noble faith, just as judeism is. I think it's unfortunate that Islam's share of radical fanatics have tarnished its name so much, while the Christian fanatics (such as, say, Jack Chick) are merely a laughing stock.

Forgiven, I know I'm no scholar. I am no theologan, I am far from any authority on these matters. This is just what I believe. I can't offer you specific passages to back me up, but at the risk of sounding clichéd, it's just what I feel in my heart. I've always thought that the main idea Jesus brough about was that the days of a vengeful god are over. Would God feel the need to conform to man's religions to reveal Himself to people? I personally wouldn't think so, but them again, who am I to assume to know God? Maybe none of us can be sure.

What gives me the right to say Christianity is the only true faith? Well, I was born into it. That seems to be enough for most.
