i am glad that your premature departure from life was misdiagnosed.

[don't forget to sue!]

in fact you don't need to die in the usual sense at all.

it's possible to sign up for cryonic suspension - the process whereby one is frozen at the moment of ^death^ in order to be revivified when appropriate nanotechnology has been developed which can repair cellular/molecular damage.

after being cooled down and cryoprotected with a sort of antifreeze one goes into a dewar which is a capsule.

you could have a double dewar to share with your significant other.

i went to a london meeting of alcor - a leading provider of this service - and gay men were well represented.

on the assisted suicide point - the problem with competent assistance being provided to those who want to die is that it's an irrevocable step.

many people are seriously depressed and not in their right mind when they want to die (to the extent that any of us are ever in a right mind state).

most people who attempt suicide and fail are later glad they didn't succeed.

live long and prosper.

ps. i can't remember the exact fees being charged for cryonic suspension but i think it's around $50,000 for full-body and $30,000 for head only.
