Hi Splash!, Yes, I do think the animal skins can be seen as a sort of blood sacrifice, but it's interesting to think about how Adam and Eve would have reacted. They'd have seen the bloodshed as a picture of their sin, and it would have helped them realise that God was offering them forgiveness instead of punishment! So rather than saying that the blood covered their sins from God's point of view, I'd say that it covered their sins from their point of view because it helped them realise that God was forgiving them. God was ready to forgive them freely -- he didn't need the blood to do that -- but he provided the blood to help them realise it. With Christian love, Jules |
