Bach,

Let me say how much I for one appreciate all you are doing here. It doesn't get said often enough, and I'm sorry I haven't said it recently.

I had suspected that you would have been deeply affected by recent discussions, and I stand in awe of the gracious way you have responded, while keeping everything running as well, not to mention introducing the new chat room at the same time! I just think you are doing exactly the right thing, in the right way!

God bless you brother!

An interesting project might be to develop a statement of faith for CBF that a large number of people who call themselves Christian BLs might feel able to adhere to.
An interesting project indeed, and one which I might enjoy being part of, although...

I have been surprised to see Muslims and Thelemites gladly joining in here, but very glad to see it happening, as I'm sure you must be! I suppose it must show that, thanks to you, we are ahead of these other religions in providing such a support forum. Nothing we do should change our openness to them. Anything we write as a statement of faith must be done in such a way that it doesn't put anyone off. I said in my reply to Forgiven that maybe the words "Christian" and "boylove" are sufficient. But I can also see the value of having something more.

If we did write something, I don't think it should be like a typical "list of doctrines" statement, with something about sexuality tacked on the end. I've seen that done somewhere else, and it looked contrived. Evangelicals and fundamentalists like lists of doctrines, but we take in a wider range of Christians than that. Our statment would I guess be much more about the life of Jesus and the principles of acceptance and forgiveness in relation to sexuality. I suppose the piece you already have at the top of the board is a starting point.

One of its aims would be to demonstrate to everyone visiting what it is that all Christians agree on, and it would serve to keep us united. And perhaps it would have a spill-over effect to help unite other Christians that we know in other contexts as well. But it should never make the board look exclusive.

But these are all just one person's point of view, and I'm sure there are many other considerations.

Thank you again for all your work for us.

With Christian love,

Jules
