Let me refine what I was saying

I wasn't trying to say that the conservatives argued that pederasty was good; the conservatives today don't argue that homosexuality is good. Instead, what I was trying to get across was that the worst slur you could put upon a classical man (and I think this was as true in Rome as it was in Greece, wasn't it?) was not that he was diddling boys but that he was diddling men.
