There are socially acceptable sins. There are socially unacceptable sins. They're all sins.

As BLs we tempted by socially unacceptable sins (at least by modern standards). We look around our friends (and especially our churchgoing ones) who appear respectable and we fear that we will be revealed as the dreadful sinners we are. In fact of course we are ALL sinners; by God's standards we've all messed up big time - it really doesn't make that much odd whether our offences are the sort that get you arrested or not.

Remember the parable Jesus told:

The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'
"But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Luke cpt 18 v 9- 14

The tax collector was the pedophile of his day in terms of acceptability; it's a parable we BLs need to hear clearly - we can be forgiven by God (which is my nick, NOT by chance...) And if God has forgiven us, we can go on to rebuild our lives and live for him - which is part of the deal - 'repent' - i.e. try to live our lives as HE wants. He will make it worth living, and give it a purpose.....

It would be great if you could drop by the chat room this evening - or alternatively send an email (ziplip seems to do ok for a lot of us, and keeps our identity obscure).
