I've had it before, only once was it anything like this though. I had this friend Karl (note, BTW, that any names I use here are not real names (helps avoid ID'ing me :-), but I prefer a name to just a letter most of the time. We started out as enemies, but became close friends after staying on the farm of one of the guys at our church. For us it was a bit different. I don't know if we ever felt when the other one was thinking of us, perhaps it was just something we didn't think to try out. But we did know each others feelings. And we often knew the others thoughts as well. When we were together, at times we gave up talking because we said exactly the same thing at exactly the same time. Karl was also a Christian, and was the first real friend I ever had and probably the first person I ever really loved (but he was straight). Back then I also wondered a bit if what we had was good or bad, although I forumlated a theory that since our brains are basically electrical devices, and electrical devices give off radiation, perhaps our brains were literally "on the same wavelength" and we could simply pick up and interpret the stray radiation from each other. With the distance involved with B (struggling to think of a name for him that isn't the same as someone I know - all the B names I can think of are taken :-), I know this cannot be the case. And I am scared to think of where something like this could lead when we are in the same house when he comes here for a visit in a few months time. With this sort of thing, I am sure that I'd have no trouble breaking down his barriers to a sexual relationship (which I know would be damaging to him in the long term). I don't want a sexual relationship with him, or rather, I don't want the damage that would do to him. But I know myself and know that my sexual desires can esily overcome anything else "in the heat of the moment". I have been honest with him about this as well. Thankfully, I have a couple of the world's top researchers in sexuality in my neighbourhood (so no, I'm not going to name them!), and they're Christians. After posting this I am actually heading over there for a visit - so some of this stuff can be covered. Thanks and God Bless, Thunderchild |
