Mark & Dakota, I found this article to be most helpful. Lately, I keep thinking to myself that life is just one pain and suffering after another. It is at these times where you realize why people become suicidal. It is the only way to truly stop the pain. Sex and alcohol also dull pain too, but such use comes at a price. Jesus said in Luke 9:23: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." When I think of taking up a cross, I think of carrying a burden and I wonder why Jesus was so interested in having us suffer. I don't actually have the answer yet, other than that our suffering might pay a price for someone else as Jesus' suffering paid a price for all of our sins. Just some further thoughts here.
