The questions you ask are not new. They have been asked by many many people who have discovered they have desires for young boys, including myself. There are no definite conclusions as to how these feelings come about. I myself have pondered that question for longer than you have been alive, never finding an answer. But I don't think knowing the cause would help much, so don't spend too much energy trying to figure it out. One thing I'm pretty sure of though, is that it's very unlikely that you can change your attractions. I have tried for many years trying everything from prayer, to controlling my thoughts. But nothing has worked. So I have concentrated on learning how to live with it. I wouldn't advise being promiscuous with girls in an attempt to get rid of your feelings for boys. I doubt it would help and would probably lead to other problems. But being attracted to boys isn't all that bad. There are tons of problems that you could have that would be far worse and affect your life much more. You can learn to live with it. I applaud you for deciding not to act on it. If you ever did act on it, it might do emotional harm to the kid, even if he is willing at the time. And it might very well ruin your life too if it was ever found out. The time to make that decision a firm one is before you get in a situation that tests your resolve. Since you are also attracted to girls your own age, you are better off than many people who are only attracted to boys. You can still find emotional closeness and intimacy from women. As for your feelings for boys, they may not be the norm, but they aren't evil. You can still enjoy the beauty of a boy and admire them as you see them. There's nothing wrong with that. And you can always come here to talk about stuff you may not want to talk about with r/w friends. Dakota |
