A bit of my story...

I really found a church that was alive and full of love. A place where everyone knew each other. They would search for new members and foster them while they helped those who were already in the church grow in Christ. We had a pastor that was not power hungry. He didn't have to prove anything. He loved his congregation. And he followed God's will obediently.

Then, our paster decided to move on to a new church (as is suit in our denomination). And we grew closer when our "leader" wasn't there. Then a new man came in and I saw the church falling apart. He was power hungry and this and that... I left the church in search for another one that was right for me.

I looked for two years... looking till I could find a church that was home. That's the thing Bill. We can't just dismiss all Christians as hypocrits... Because frankly, we are. All of us. Because we're sinful people. That's something we just have to understand. Only when we get to heaven will we not be "hypocritical anymore." But humans have a way of hurting each other. And Christians are probably the best at this.

The purpose of a church is to experience God's fellowship and have fellowship with other Christians. I hate using the phrase Church shop... but Church shop till you find the one that screams out, "Come in Bill. God loves you, and so do we." And that the church where you belong.

Church isn't about putting other Christian groups down. It's about saying, "Praise God... you guys are God's children too." ANd it really gets me a bit angry when other groups say, "Catholics are going to hell" or "Lutherans are all hypocrits." But really Bill, I pray that you find a home. It's SO important to find a place where, when you go, you get renewed and feel close to God. If you don't, the church is not doing it's job for you... and you hvae to find one that will.

In HIS arms,
Huck Finn
