Nice to see you 'round these parts again. Hope you get through the tough times. The scandal in the Catholic church is hitting hard over here too. I won't say it makes me ashamed to be Catholic, because the beurocracy that's been concealing these priests do not represent me. Views on homosexuality aside, I think that if a priest takes a vow of chastidy, he should adhere to it completely. Now, I don't think being chaste is necessary, and it's an old relic of a tradition. Also, admitting some female priests would be a good step forward. They've only recently gotten female alter-boys (Bit of a freudian slip, for lack of a better term at the moment. Alter-servers maybe?) |
