Well, shucks. I was all ready to post a smartass comeback, like "no thanks, I prefer a revolver," but if you spent that much time here, maybe a flippant reply is uncalled for. I'm sorry you suffered abuse, but I also hope you can get passed it. Being a victim wasn't a choice back then, but it is a choice now. A lot of people remain a victim long after the abuse has stopped, by focusing their lives on it. Sometimes it's easy to base your identity on being the victim and blame every bad thing that happens on that. You may not be able to ever get rid of the scars from your past, (I have a few myself) but you CAN refuse to play the victim's role. God bless. Dakota |
