I could never love somebody that cruel

THe basic problem for me really is that I could never feel love for a person who is so cruel as to send imcomprehensibly enormous numbers of people into burning, torturous flames for all of eternity. That kind of sadistic evil precludes love. And no matter how we define the numbers who go into that fire, they must be huge. All the Muslims. All the Buddhists. All the pagans. All the Confucians. All the ... well, you understand what I`m saying. Most of the people who lived in the past must be doomed. Most people who exist today must be doomed (for most people don`t believe in the Christian salvation doctrine.) Therefore, according to that doctrine, all these people will be tortured by fire - not for a little while to punish them but forever. No, there is no way I could love the god responsible for that kind of enormous cruelty. |
