Hi Genghis, I don't think I have ever replied to any of your posts before, mostly I think because my time is usually limmited. But I am quite intrigued by your post. I had one Y.F. with whom I shared a VERY close relationship, and it was wonderful (unfortunately he has left my life....but will never leave my heart!), and I have had some friendships which have been less than that kind of intensity. But I think one thing is true of all of my friendships with young ones.... They will never, ever leave my heart! Even though they grow into adults, they will forever remain in my heart as the person I grew to love. With the one relationship I had, the intense one, I actually grew to love him more as the years went by and he became a teen-ager. Teen years are really difficult for anyone, but when a relationship is a good one and established in love, and Jesus Christ, it can servive those times. Unfortunately my "L." left my life before I could see him "graduate" from the teen-age. I will forever miss him, but I have faith in God to keep him safe. I do have a friendship now that also includes a boy, but because of the restrictions placed on me by the law, it is very superficial. However, not so much that he didn't feel as though he could tell me that he loves me! That was a wonderful moment, I'll tell you! Whatever kind of relationship we share with our Y.F.'s, if we try to keep God at it's center, then it will be a really great one! One that will last in our hearts and minds forever.
