Christianity as merely another example of the mystery religions of the 1st century that replaced one set of dubious myths - like the ones about Narcissus, Zeus and Europa and Zeus and Ganymede(!) with an alternative set which were morally more satisfying but equally untrue. Whereas Paul goes to mega lengths to establish the historical context and objective truth of the events of at the time of the resurrection. In your terms Curtis is eliding Fundamentalism and fundamentalism - and rejecting both for a 'Sea of Faith' interpretation, which I am not noted for my toleration of!
