Rahiim, As much as I would like to agree with your argument I feel that it is partially flawed. In 1 Corinthians Chaper Six, Paul says: "9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." Clearly homosexuality is not something that the bible indicates should be celebrated, any more than immorality or idolatry should be. God doesn't create us with flaws, God creates us with a free will, which allows us to make our own decisions about whether we will turn towards him, or towards our sin. Viewing our sinful nature as God given, and therefore something to be embraced, is dangerous business. Using that argument, rapists should celebrate that tendency too since God created them that way. Now as to the issue of whether homosexuals (or pedophiles) can change, I'm beginning to think that maybe they cant. But that doesn't mean that they can't repent of sin (if they are sinning....I recognize that some dont). You are not alone. Ben |
