It always comes back to Political Correctness with them, then ;/
So busy try to be accepted and understood, they forget what it means to accept and understand.

I think I remember realising this before, when we communicated about Bridges Across the Divide. Not just MCC, but a general trend in "liberal" churches, to be so full of "accepting" people in a Politically Correct fashion, that they never accept those who really need it most.

I don't know know why this tendency to bastardise those on the fringe is so common. I've been going to a church, which is reputed to be a "soft", though still conservative, church. That is, they are reputed to have more time for people, rather than following the cold-hearted hardline of typical conservative evangelicalism. But just you try to talk about the gay issue in any other than condenscending/condemning tones, and you'll find their heart at the core is just as frozen dead as any other church's, as I only learnt recently, to my chagrin. So I'm back to square 1, so to speak.

I'm almost preferring to return to a hardline conservative church. At least there you know where you stand (and you know, what's more, they do have a basic care for you as a person, even if they know you disagree about some things). I'd much rather a church which punches your eye out, saying "I really regret feeling I have to do this", than a church which say "oh I do love you, truly!", while watching as maggots consume your eye socket.

Hmm, I fear my metaphors are getting a little black, hohum.

Take care. It's about time I got a replacement email address organised, eh?
