I make it a point to prompt boys to say anything they want to God. Please excuse the language, but i think God preferes, "Life is shitty God. Help!" to "Oh marvelous and heavenly father. We lift up today to your name's glory... blah blah blah... in the name of your holy and anointed incarnate son, Amen!" From the moment a boy accepts Christ, I try to help them understand that it's THEIR words they use to know God. When I walk a boy though to Christ, I tell them to use their own words to Confess, Believe, and Ask. :-) it works well.. My favorite was one of the first boys, when I asked him to pray before we went to bed. "Dear God... umm... thanks for today... uhh... I had such a fun time. Oh and God, thanks for forgiving me and leting me be your son. I love you. ahhh.... yeah. Amen." And as my one friend Lyn always starts her prayers, "Yo! Waddup God! YOU ROCK!" Hallelujiah!
