No, I don't hate Christians, nor do I hate Jews. All three great faiths that grew outta that region were based on the promises God made to Abraham. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are kindred faiths, and all this bullshit in the Mideast both mystifies and saddens me. Jesus, Moses, AND Mohammed ALL weeep at the idiocy of it all. (Just like I get no understanding of the thang in Ireland betweeen Catholics and Protestants, again, Jesus wept!) Most ancient sacred scriptures condemn homosexuality. BUT they were also written long before mankind started makin' scientific discoveries in both the understanding of the human psyche, (within the last 100 years), and the understanding of the human genome, (just the last decade.) Of course the proscriptions against homosexuality are no worse in both books than any other sin, such as eating shellfish, or wearing blended clothing. I wear my hair short and will never grow a full beard, (well, maybe a goatee-at least I be tryin' to, hehehe.) And that is listed on the same laundry list in both Sura I and Leviticus. My argument ain't with Christianity, it's with the hateful and intolerant atttitude that many Christians have. (And its not just them, its anyone who's religious views permit them to ignore the tenents of peace anfd love that are the cornerstones of any faith.) I have little patience with the extreme side of any religion, be it the Taliban, the Christian Coalition, or the JDL and the Likudim. Its that whole sense of SMUGNESS that infests extremist religious views, (which can justify awful thangs, witnesss the Crusades, the stealing of land in Gaza, and 9/11), that makes my blood boil.
