I remember your original post about this and as I recall, your YF first tried to blackmail you. I think you should consider the possibility that your YF is conning you. Do you have any other evidence that what he says is true beyond just his say so? I'm sorry, but the whole story sounds suspicious to me. Why would he accept something from these people (as yet unknown but sounds like drugs) and then change his mind and throw it away? Why not just give it back? And his attempt at blackmailing you doesn't exactly garner trust in what he says. I admit that I am a cynical person at times, but that is because of previous life experiences. My gut feeling is that you are being played for a chump. I would advise telling him to go to the police. If what he says is true, you are never going to be able to buy these people off. They will stick to you and him like leaches. And unless these people are really heavy hitters in crime, they aren't going to kill your YF. And if they ARE killers, you are both way out of your league anyway. What is much more likely is that your YF is conning you for money. And since you bought into it, he is getting greedy and figures he can get more. So the kind of help I would offer is to help him go to the police and be there to give him support. But be prepared to lose him as a friend, because this isn't the kind of help he wants. But do you really want someone for a friend who plays on your emotions and your fondness for him for money?
