..Just got off the a train after spending about 40 mins on & off with two 11yo's (one in a red shirt one in a blue shirt). When I got to the station, there was a 30 min wait for the train & I saw them heading to the wrong platform for the first train. So I calmly went up to them & told them the correct platform for the first train out. I stood by them as they waited & took off their roller blades (as instructed by the Station Guard) & just stook there for a while while they talked away to each other. The our train pulls in & they get in one carriage & I in another, we all get off at the next stop to change trains & catch a very new looking locomotive that's immaculate inside. The boys join the train just before it goes & first sit back from me, but then join me on adjacent seats. They glance at me occasionally & amuse themselves by playing with the automatic toilet door. Just before we pull into the station, Red says "oh ship" (swearing altered to clean word), "what?" Blue. "I've spent all my money, so how am I going to ring my mum. We stuck here!" "Oh no", says Blue as they both laugh about their predicament. We all get off the train & being me I hover nearby. They're just about to pass me to leave the station & so I said to them "Do you need any money to get back?" Red replies "Only 20p (eqv to 35c) to ring my mum". So I give him the money & Red says "Thanks mate". I left them at the station, putting on their roller skates & preparing to ring their mum (whom I assume is picking them up from the station). If I see them again & they are in need of further assistance, I pray I will be onhand to help them again. And of course I'll let everyone here know! Best regards to all LvMF72 |
