In reply to more signs. . . submitted by Dirk on 2002-08-10 23:12:11, Saturday

I first saw those signs while visiting the southern US on vacation in '99. I thought it was an excellent idea and told all my family about it when I returned home. A couple of years later (maybe 2001?), I saw spanish language translations of those same signs adapted to our culture in my country (Puerto Rico). We dont watch games on sunday so much, so our version of that sign says 'how about we meet at my house on sunday before going shopping?'. The signs are still there, and it seems they are gonna stay for the long run. I read in a newspaper article (while in the US) that those signs were funded by someone who wants to remain anonymous (perhaps it is a wealthy celebrity?). I dont know if the same person who funded it in the US funded them here, but if it wasnt the same person then I guess its catching on and I hope the trend is picked up by other countries. More than once now, Ive been on my way to do something I shouldnt do as a christian (hang out in an unchristian environment with my friends, etc.) and seeing the sign while driving on my way there, Ive changed my mind and decided not to go to the place, but rather hang out with them up until they are on their way out then head back home. So, it even serves us christians as sort of a reminder that God is watching. My favorite one so far is:

Do you know where you are headed?
-God

The english version of that one may be different (or might not exist), but thats my favorite one so far.
