>I accept The Bible as the word of God,

why? Jesus never endorsed the bible, it didnt even exist when Jesus walked the Earth. Jesus never told anyone to write anything down, he never told anyone that any scriptures should be compiled into a book called the Holy Bible. Whenever Jesus (or anyone else in the New Testament) spoke of scriptures, it was in refference to the Old Testament (which he did endorse, and therefore I do not question). The bible as we know it was an invention of the early church. How can you be sure that the early church fathers correctly followed God's wishes in the creation of the bible? how can you be sure God wanted a bible to be created in the first place? and assuming he did, how can you be sure that the early church fathers chose the correct scriptures to be included in the bible? Those are my real concerns. Ive asked all sorts of people these questions and no one had a good answer that supports the 'sola scriptura' philosophy (which is actually a rather new invention), not even my pastor (who I know is a man of God, and is one of the best pastors Ive ever come in contact with, and Ive come in contact with many). Therefore, Ive pretty much discarded the 'Sola Scriptura' philosophy as being an invention of man. The reason I put these challenges on this board is because, even though logically I have come to this conclusion which appears to be correct, years of being told otherwise are hard to overcome and I still feel some kind of hope that what Ive always thought to be true might still be true (and some guilt that by feeling otherwise, I am in some way a heathen).
