What is Christianity based on?

...the Bible in which christianity is based... For many Christians, myself included, Christianity is based on Jesus, rather than on the Bible. The Bible is a reliable source about Jesus because it comes from very close to his day and, I believe, a uniquely most reliable source. But if people want to look at other sources about Jesus as well, and debate how reliable they are, that isn't anti-Christian of itself; potentially it could enhance Christianity, if any of the other sources are found to have some value. They are not trying to disprove Jesus; they're just trying to find out more about him! With Christian love, Jules |
