The Kabala is the Jewish magic system in which the soul tries to unite with God by becoming God in its abilities, including creati0n of life (hence the Golem of Prague). The Sefiroth is a series of circles connected to each other in a special arrangement of lines which purportedly shows how to attain this power. I believe the word "sefiroth" means "Tree of life" as found in Genesis, but don't quote me on that. This is similar to the goal of the gnostics. Whether the Kabalists disparaged the body, thereby denying the resurrection I don't know. I'm not that familiar with the Kabala. |
