Flooded (for a few hours)

We had 3 hours of torrential rain yesterday, which brought flooding to many parts of our region (as well as the rest of the UK). The holiday camp also didn't escape. A wall by one of the carparks collapsed & there was a river encamped below for about two hours. Also ironically outside the main swimming pool, there was another river of water well over ankle deep, as I waded to attempt to get to the staff canteen. The corner where you turn was impassable, so I had to go back. I then heard a voice "Mfox, I need a piggy back" not a boy I'm afraid, but a young female member of staff about 20yo, she's little & lovely, really sweet & pleasant to everyone. So I waded over & gave her a lift back to the main arena. In front of me in the water was a handsome 14yo blonde boy, walking barefoot carrying his shoes to the swimming pool (wish I could've joined him). When I started work a young 10yo was walking around the venue barefoot, not at all bothered about anything. He was there for about 20 mins, so I got to look at him a lot (casually). No BM's tonight, but one for gl's. A young girl probably about 7 or 8 came in looking for flowers for her mum, she was very loud & talkative. We don't sell flowers, so she got a chocolate bar. She went over to P's till looked at his picture & said "you look horrible in that picture", I just died laughing, then she went to me & said "you don't look any better". It was all in good taste & she came in a further two or three times waving to me as she went. Which probably shows I'm just good with children of either sex. The floodwaters disappeared when the tide went out & the sluice gates by the river took helped to empty the drains & things returned to sort of normality. All the best MF72 |
