I've recently experienced behavior such this from two different persons actually. I can understand a reluctance to reply so that one would not get dragged into something but there are no details that I have mentioned that would make anyone think it was them in particular. I do appreciate your reply and yes, you're correct that perhaps I expect too much however, there is a certain amount of courtesy that should be exchanged between friends if they want to maintain a relationship.
