I saw the staff guy in a paper shop yesterday & he filled me in on the full details of his involvement with this kid. At the start of the week, he'd been working in the arcades, when this kids mum came up to him & said "would you mind looking after X for me". He said okay & the kid hung-out with him, everywhere he went everyday after that. I said that he'd had the chance to be a good role model for the boy, but he disagreed saying that he really couldn't wait to get shot of the kid & he wasn't a good role model to follow. He also said that today was his day-off & so the kid was on his own & would be going home (today) anyway. It also turns out that 5 mins after leaving the venue that night, he slipped into the works office, forcing the kid to find someone else to hang out with. I was sad in a way that I hadn't been in a position to provide this kid with company for the week. Cause I hadn't been working there (different department anyway), for her to have approached me instead. I'm sure that as much as he learnt from this guy (who to be truthful is a nice guy anyway of about 20yo), he may have benefited more from being with me. But I'm sure that God will send me another yf, as soon as he's ready. On that note, theirs a 16yo working in one of the food courts, that looks a lot younger (built of his age though), I've spoken to him a couple of times, but would like to get to know him better.
