Memories + Phantasm III

Last night, got in to find two texes from my brother (28yo). One said he's going to be come manager of a department where he works the other said "B" from U10's soccor team says hello. He was refering to a boy who is now in his early 20's, that I new when I was 18 or 19yo. Nice kid, met him at the soccor club, also met his older sister (who I had a crush on) & his parents. Well he progressed through the team as he got older & made it into the leagues side & probably represented the county as well. I hadn't seen him for 8 years minimum. One bm comes to mind from those days. It was in his house & his older mate "N" (12yo) was also there. We were in the kitchen I sat down at the table to talk to N, who sat on a chair opposite. B came along & jumped on my lap, in front of his mate, who I knew me fairly well, but I didn't expect that from B while N was around. We later sat together on the sofa for a minute, I was testing to see if he would do it again if we were alone. Nice memories. We'd also play tennis in the street & spend quite a lot of free time together at his house. Warning: Some the following scenes maybe unsavory reading for people under 18yo or those with a fear of horror movies. After Buffy kicked Ghost ass last night (usually vampire ass) I settled down to watch Phantasm 3 on TV. Phantasm is a series of films about a gruesome Tall Man who works in a morgue, refining dead bodies & turning them into dwarf's & killer ball of steel. Anyway. In the 3rd installment, we come across a boy hero, yes a boy, 10yo who's good with his hands. Our main guy from all 3 films has been tied up by 3 baddies & thrown into the trunk of their car. They enter this empty house, to discover it's booby trapped, a swinging model clown with a knife, a door with no escape & a small figure running around. One captures the figure to find out it's a boy. "Ah we've got the little basket" he said. Well you remember I said he's good with his hands, well, he pulls out a native american hatchet & stabs the guy in the leg. The female robber says "you little ship", to this he pulls the hachet out & throws it in her direction, hitting her in the head (so she's dead now). The main bad guy screams. They all go outside chasing after the boy who picks up a frisby & the main bad guy says "so you're going to play with that now". The boy has deadly accuracy & the frisby slits the guy's throat & he's dead. The one who was stabbed then tries to go after the boy & falls into a pit, the boy then produces a cowboy gun & kills the guy (we don't see it, but hear the shots). The boy rescues the good guy & they head off in search of the tall man. The bad guys are brought back to life by the Tall man & are used as zombie killers later in the film. The boy actor's name is Kevin Connors, who's charachter would be a "predator's nightmare". (Hope this won't give anyone nightmares). LvHalo |
