of preaching at Bondi Beach in Australia about what heaven would be like. BB is a place where the ocean is a major focus of attention, the sun is much appreciated, and sex is, as everywhere, somewhat important in people's lives. He pointed out that Revelation says that there is no sun and no sea in heaven, and sex gets a write down elsewhere in the bible. He commented that people seemed to be in a hurry to leave after the service....

Which is an obtuse way of pointing out that heaven will be far better than we can imagine.

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
Rev 21 v 4.

Although it is hard to imagine how things can be better, I have no doubt that either there will be boys whom we can enjoy in the best possible way, or there will be far better things so that we will not not notice the lack. What that will be is impossible for us to imagine - but it will be better....

C S Lewis's Narnia books are a must read for this - not least because they are about boys - but also because they contain wonderful amounts of real understanding of God. And the scene at the end of the final book 'The Last Battle' where they finally arrive in 'heaven' - and it dawns on them that they are finally HOME, finally in the most wonderful place possible, is one of the greatest sources of encouragement in my life... hghly recommended...
