Soccor match turns into YF reunion

Spending time away from Elekid does me good I think. It also allowed me time to have a bit of freedom. I don't usually write about my soccor games but this one was different. I arrived in town over an hour early and after chatting to BG I arrived at the ground half-hour late. I'd taken a wrong turn to this ground I'd visited several times before & got almost lost. When the team sheets came in I instantly recognised 3 names from my past. These boys I knew from about the ages of 11 upwards. The oldest is now 22 I believe & on the pitch he looked every bit of it. He was the captain of his side, grown quite a bit as well. I remember him as a thin 11yo & also saw him either side of puberty whilst I was playing for his Dad's soccor team. We were good friends & from his greeting I guess we still were. The other two were not really yf's, the older one I met when he was 14 (now 24 I guess), his brother was a chubby 11yo who I spent most time with. His parents both accepted me into their lives, as they knew me from soccor. Both boys played in the match also, the youngest retaining his tall thin appearance which he grew in to at 15. We had a chat after the game as well, they now all run a ladies soccor team (not a good one I should add, the USA National ladies side have nothing to worry about). But I didn't get a chance to speak to the first boy, now man I mentioned. During the game though, he still displayed his fighting spirit, hard tackles (no mercy) and a few challenges that would've been welcomed on WWE Wrestling, when he caught this guy in the head with his foot. He avoided being yellow carded on several occasions I should add & I think he had a good game. Briefly saw Elekid last night, he's meeting me today at 1.30, it's his day-off. Still to see if his brother is here yet, report will probably be delayed until Saturday I'm afraid. Best regards Halo |
