for the record, yes I am the admin round here - but what follows is my personal view; we try very hard not to restrict the definition of 'Christian' to one particular brand.... So - placing my admin hat firmly to one side: There are two seperate issues that I would express concern about in your post. The first is the purely BL one - your statement "I would never intentionally harm a boy" then leads to the issue of whether a sexual relationship with a boy will always be harmful. My impression is that there is a high probability that it will, especially in the present culture of the Anglo-Saxon 'West' (i.e. USA, Canada, UK, Australia and NZ). In the present circumstances I believe it is a line that we should not cross - regardless of any Christian insight on the issue. The second is you and God. At the core of the Christian gospel is the cross - which is about Jesus dying that we might be forgiven (my nick - not a coincidence!). The question is how do relate to that - is it a source of encouragement to you; does it help you believe that you are forgiven of the mistakes that you - like the rest of us - have made in various areas of our lives? Anyway - here's hoping that you find us a help and encouragement. |
