That is something I touched on the other week on here. I believe the fear of God (i.e. not going to Hell) is the first step of a wise man. From there, one's relationship with God progresses. You want to please God because you love Him, not because you are afraid what happens if you don't. This is why I believe that Christians cannot be pulled away from grace. Once you are saved, you don't need to worry about hell, you simply want to be as close to God as you can. |
