Sorry this is split up due to technical limitations...! Contd: I do hate it when people preach as if it's a chapter about sexual sin, when it's clearly not, and try to get a response from people on that basis. But it sounds to me as though in your case you were challenged by the real message of the chapter, rather than the example, and I'm struck by your commitment to put God first. For too many of us, we do tend to worship boys above God, in terms of time spent, and emotional involvement. I thought that I'd share that I once came out to my pastor. We were sharing a tent on camp, and at the time I hadn't found the internet so that wasn't the issue; what was the issue was that I'd fallen for one of boys on camp and had been giving him coded messages about it. The point came where I realised this was bad for him, so I confessed to the pastor one night. He was good about it. He let me talk, and empathised before he tu |
