Homosexuality, Pedophilia and Scripture

Scripture is silent on man/boy relationships and silent on the whole concept of pedophilia, to conclude from this that they are wrong is simply an argument from silence. The morality of man/boy relationships needs to be inferred from the more general concept of homosexuality, which I believe does not receive blanket condemnation in Scripture (simply certain forms of it are condemned). Briefly put, the context in Leviticus is violation of one’s marriage covenant, which is non applicable to me or anyone else who isn’t married. The references in 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy reflect the LXX wording of Leviticus 20:13 and cannot refer to anything beyond that proscribed in Leviticus anyway (or else Paul was adding to the Law). Same with the Romans passage and the context there is that of people who refuse to give God either thanks or glory (hardly referring to Christians who are gay or pedophiles). The reference to homosexual acts being against nature appears hard to reconcile on the surface but it’s actually a catch-22 taken as such, aside from the fact that Paul states that ‘nature’ tells us it is a disgrace for a man to have long hair (1 Corinthians 11:14), when men grow long hair naturally and it was a requirement in the Old Testament for being a Nazirite, one separated unto the Lord (Numbers 6:5). I see no reason why one should conclude homosexual and pedophilic relationships are immoral in and of themselves and I personally view them as acceptable within the same parameters God has set from heterosexual relationships. When someone can change the fact people don’t choose to be gay or pedophiles, provide some real evidence of harm done in consensual relationships and convince me that God really didn’t say that it is not good for the man to be alone (Genesis 2:18), then perhaps I’ll consider the possibility that engaging in loving homosexual or pedophilic acts are harmful, sinful choices along the lines of actions such as lying, stealing and murdering.
