Slavery was always wrong

If I recall correctly as I haven't read the Bible today, that some guy by the name of Moses led a whole nation out of bondage. If slavery was such a good thing, why did God command Moses? It is a shame that it was an accepted practice in the ancient world to enslave many of those that were conquered. Until less than a hundred and fifty years ago, slave owners justified their holdings based on scripture. God, despite your Satan slur, I feel talks to me. For example during my mother’s last year I got a message that very much proved to me his existence. I read much of the bible in my teen years, along with my Holy Missal, Baptist Study Guide and parts of the Book of Mormon. That was when on Sundays, I often attended services at two different faiths. I stopped because of people like you. I got disgusted with folks who cited the Bible as their source for their hateful and vindictive behavior. I strongly believe in those without sin throw the first stone. I couldn't accept that that my Catholic mother was going to Hell as the Fundamentalist claimed or that my Baptist father was going to purgatory for a thousand years as the Catholics claimed. I finally realized that God was much more loving and forgiving than those who mistakenly claimed to speak o his behalf. I trust the answers to my prayers much more than I trust any man of the cloth. By the way, God doesn’t care that I had male lovers or that I find teens sexually appealing. Once you learn to accept that, you will stop being bitter. I still read parts of it from time to time. On my bookshelf is the King James’s version as well as the Revised English Bible and if I want to find a particular reference, on my computer is the Deluxe Multimedia Bible. I grew up with the Bible and I try to behave in accordance with the good things it taught. |
