There is much debate over the relationship of James and the six others that some claim that are the brothers and sisters of Jesus. Catholics are taught that Mary died a virgin and that the brothers and sisters were children of Joseph from a previous wife that died. Some believe that Joseph died when Jesus was about twelve. It doesn’t seem possible for Mary to bear seven children that survived in twelve years. Others claim the seven are actually cousins. |
