Thank you for your words. I understand. This "part" of me is actually a very SMALL part of me, but it does overtake me at times. Sometimes I wonder if talking about it all the time is really the answer. On the other hand, I have been encouraged by this forum to stay strong and use these desires to strengthen boys (mentor, teach, encourage, etc). Others have done great things for boys because of their sensitivity and concern for boys. We do not have to let this desire bring us down to the realm of lust and flesh. I guess that's why we call ourselves "Christian boylovers" because we use this part of us to do what we believe is the work of God. Too often, children are overlooked, their spirits are killed, their potential is lost, their dreams die. Some of us here are a lot more sensitive to the good work that adults can do for kids if they pay attention to them and support them. Maybe that's why we're here -- to encourage each other to at least use this desires to accomplish good instead of bad. Maybe it'd be better to do as you say, and get past these desires altogether. But sometimes I wonder if that's what God really wants me to do. Of course he wants me not to sin, but perhaps he wants me also to see this part of me as a gift of awareness that I can use to do good in boys' lives, especially those who are overlooked. It's hard for me to say exactly where these feelings come from and what, if anything, I should be doing with them. But let me tell you that I will seriously consider the words you gave us here today, and I will pray about these things. If you have any other words to share, please feel free.
